Keeper of the Lost Cities book intro

Keeper of the cities is my favourite book series, and I love the series from beginning to end. There are 7 books and I am going to be giving a sneak peek at what these books are about up to book 6, (because I am not quite done book 7).

Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities91feMZ4LegL

Twelve-year-old Sophie Foster has a secret. She’s a Telepath, someone who hears the thoughts of everyone around her. It’s a talent she’s never known how to explain, and would never dream of telling anyone. She has always thought that she didn’t belong in the human world, and she was right. Everything changes the day she meets Fitz Vacker, a mysterious boy who appears out of nowhere and can also read minds. She discovers there’s a place she does belong, and that staying with her human family will place her in danger. She finds out that she is an elf and possesses super human ability’s (like telepathy). In a matter of days, Sophie is forced to leave behind everything and start a new life in a place that is  different from anything she has ever known, a place called the lost cities. Sophie has new rules to learn and new skills to master, and not everyone is thrilled that she has come “home.” She never seems to thinks she belongs, but soon that all changes. There are secrets buried deep in Sophie’s memory…secrets about who she really is and why she was hidden among humans, secrets that other people desperately want. So in this book it is all about Sophie finding out who she is and who are her friends, vs her enemy’s.

Book 2: Exile

Sophie  thought she was safe. Settled into her home at Havenfield , surrounded by friends, and using her unique telepathic abilities to train Silveny (the first female Alicorn ever seen in the Lost Cities) and her life finally seems to be coming together. But Sophie’s enemy’s are still out there. And when Sophie discovers new messages and clues from the mysterious Black Swan, (a group of people trying to fight the against Sophie’s enemy’s who are hiding secrets for her to figure out, that way she can defeat her enemy’s) she’s forced to take a terrifying risk, one that puts everyone she cares about in incredible danger, far worse than anything else they had ever faced before. As important secrets come into play, it’s once again up to Sophie and her friends, along with the black swan to uncover hidden memories, before something goes terribly wrong.

Book 3: Everbalze

Keeper3_jkt_Final

In this book Sophie uncovers shocking secrets and faces unbelievable new enemies—in this fantastic third book. Sophie Foster is ready to fight back. Her talents are getting stronger, and with the Black Swan group ignoring her calls for help, she’s determined to find her enemy’s and deal with them before they come after her and her friends again. But a daring mistake leaves her world teetering on the edge of war and causes many elves to fear that she has gone too far, and the deeper Sophie searches, the farther the plot stretches, proving that her most dangerous enemy’s might be closer than she realises. Sophie must fight the flames of rebellion (and the flames of the everblaze), before they destroy anyone else she loves.

Book 4: Neverseen

Sophie Foster is on the run, she has been exiled from the lost cities and has run off to join the black swan, but at least she’s not alone. Her closest friends have gone with her to join the Black Swan. They still have doubts about the shifty organisation, but the only way to find answers from them is to start working with them. And as they settle into their new lives with the Black Swan, Sophie and her friends uncover secrets far bigger than they ever imagined, proving that the rebels are far from done, and are much more dangerous than they ever expected. Their enemy’s are calling themselves the neverseen. The black swan finds out that the neverseen might unleash a terrifying plague that threatens the safety of an entire species. Sophie and her friends fight with everything they have, and gathering new allies to join them in the fight, but in this book Sophie and her friends find out first hand that every choice has consequences, and that trusting the wrong person could prove a deadly mistake.

Book 5: Lodestar

Lodestar is probably the book where everything changes the most.  Dark schemes unfold, and Sophie’s loyalty to her friends, and the black swan is pushed to the limits. Sophie Foster is back in the Lost Cities, but the Lost Cities have changed. The threat of war hangs over her dream world, and the Neverseen are wreaking havoc everywhere. The lines between friend and enemy have blurred, and Sophie is unsure who she should trust. But when she’s warned that the people she loves most will be the next victims of the neverseen, she knows she has to act. A mysterious symbol could be the solution to what she thought were all her problems… if only she knew how to translate it. Every new clue seems to lead deeper into her world’s hidden secrets and the Black Swan aren’t the only ones who have big plans. The Neverseen have their own ideas and plans for their next big attack, and if Sophie doesn’t stop them before it’s too late, they might finally have the ultimate means to control her.

Book 6: Nightfall

9781481497404

Sophie Foster is struggling. Grieving. Scrambling. But she knows one thing,  she will not be defeated by the neverseen. The Neverseen have had their victories, but the battle is far from over. It’s time to change tactics. Make sacrifices. Re-examine everything. Maybe even time for Sophie to trust her enemies. All paths lead to Nightfall, an ominous door to an even more ominous place, and Sophie and her friends make a dangerous bargain to get there. But nothing can prepare them for the horrors they discover. The problems they’re facing stretch deep into the elves history. And with time running out, and  their mistakes catching up with them, Sophie and her allies must join forces in ways they never have before. Sophie must uncover the nasty truth about the Lost Cities terrible past  before it repeats itself and changes the already awful reality.

Book 7: Flashback

Flashback is the newest book, and is really good so far, I am only half way done but it might already be my favourite.

I would totally recommend these books to anyone who likes fiction adventure novels like Percy Jackson, or Harry Potter. This is my all time favourite book series, and the author, Shannon Messenger is coming out with 2 more books in the series. I am reading them as she is writing them so I have to wait years for the next 2 to come out, but it’s totally worth the wait.
